Default passport validity !

hello friends

i was wondering if anybody can help me with the following Q.;

- what is the minimum validity of the passport required 'at the time
of applying' for PR?
- Does all family members need to have the same address and validity
in their passports?
- or does the passport has to be valid at the time of applying and at
the time of issuance of visa?

Thanks in advance.

regards
Sam.

In order to avoid delays, you would want a validity of 2-3 years, at
least. If you're looking at less than that, you may want to renew first.

If you're talking addresses in passports - no. If you're talking
residential addresses, then depending on the relationship, I think it would
be expected you would have the same address. You are family, after all.

As for passport validity - no.

No. You can renew your passport part way through, but you're subject to
added delays and paperwork if you do.

I don't think that there are added delays. My cousin sent a letter and copy of new passports for her, her husband and their child after they got the passport request. Few days later they sent the new passports, and only 15 days later they got them back with the visas.

There were no delays with my case either. I had to renew my passport while still being processed. I came to the embassy with both passports, they updated my file within half an hour and returned my old passport.

Some visa offices insist upon at least one year's validity at the time of
application. The main concern would be the validity of the visa when it is
issued. If the passport expires at some early date then that is the limit
of validity for the visa. I would suggest that you be sure to have at least
one year of validity on your passport when you finally submit your passport
for visa issuance.
