Passport Requests FSW Cat 1 under new scheme - Yippee!!!!!!!!!
Got back from holiday this morning to find a lovely brown envelop amongst our 3 weeks post. In fact it was the only brown envelop and it contained our Passport Requests. I can't quite believe it yet, but I'm so happy. Only 7 months from sending initial application 19/12/08 to letter being sent (postmark 21/7/09).
Now planning our get away from the UK to Canada - I can't wait.
Goodluck to you all and well done CIC the system is certainly working at the moment.

i think there will be loads of people celebrating this weekend as so many people have been sent their passport requests, its amazing how fast they are working at the moment.....congratualations and all the best with your new life in Canada.......to those waiting plz dont give up it will happen soon.....

This is great news all well done , looks like you could be one of the first applicants under the new rules to receive your visa , your timescale certainly indicate CIC/CHC and doing a good job in reducing processing times . I wish you all the best for the future.

Thank you for all your good wishes - it still has not sunk in, probably be a few days yet before we actually believe we can go.
Our process took 7 months, see timeline is below:
Sent application 20 Dec 08 to Sydney.
Received 120 day letter dated 15 January 09.
Sent docs registered post to London 2 March, received 3 March.
Received AOR with ecas file number, letter dated 20 March 09.
Medical requests received 9 May 09.
Medicals taken 13 May 09
Medicals received at CIC end May 09
Problem with typo on birth certificate - changed name by deed poll for convenience 14 May 09 sent registered post
Received letter for statutory declaration to agree not to sponsor our lads at a later stage (aged 22 & 26) notarised by solicitor 29 June and returned same day to CIC, sent registered post
Passport request postmark 21 July sent 2nd class so probably arrived 25 July
Arrived home from holiday 31 July - nice brown envelop.
Hope this helps and goodluck to everyone going to Canada in the near future and those still anxiously waiting for news, I know how you feel.
