Default Passport Question

Im just about to send off for my Canadian Passport as i am Canadian by birth, which has given my children citizenship, i have been told i need to send off for their canadian citizenship cards before we emmigrate.

What i havent been told is once i have their canadian citizenship cards do i then need to send off for their canadian passports before we emmigrate or can they emmigrate on a british one and i get the canadian one when i get there???

Apologies if the obvious answer is staring me in the face, but i have so much info going round my head right now.

Thanks
Michelle x

Your circumstances are similar to mine Michelle. I understand that as long as they travel (and enter Canada) under a valid passport, and can prove their citizenship (their cards) that is all they need. That doesn't mean to say their passports won't be stamped as valid for 6 months stay only, but as citizens of Canada they can stay forever.
