Default passport by post

Hello, I am writing with a hope to get the clarification regarding
Canadian imigration .

My application is under process for permanent immigration under
skilled
worker category. All the requirements such as Interview
waive off, medical etc. are finished. I have just received
instructions
from Canadian
Immigration Section, New delhi, to send my passport to Immigration
section for visa
stamping. I am living abroad(outside India ) .I would like to know
from you that
(i) How many months approximately it would take for me to get visa
after I
send my passport?
(ii) After visa stamping approximately within how many months I have
to land
in Canada?
(iii) Is it possible to get my visa extended, once stamped?
(iv) How do I send my passport for stamping from here to India (New
Delhi)
(v) Will the Immigration section(New Delhi) send the passports here
by post
(vi) Is it not illegal to send passport by post

Thank you very much , and looking forward to your early reply.

Yes, it is illegal to send Indian passport into or outside the country
by post.
You will need to go to India and mail the passport from there.
Since you won't be able to travel outside India then, you will most
probably need to wait in India for your passports to be returned.

Once you get the passports back, you can proceed directly to Canada
from India.

It seems to be taking longer than usual, based on some recent posts in
this group.
Does the ND consulate provide any in-person stamping option, like
Buffalo?
If it does, then do it.

Else, you may have to wait for a 1 - 2 months in India.

Usually the expiration date of the PR visa is 1 year from the date of
medicals, assuming your passport is still valid.

So, if you have 5 more months until the 1-year anniversary of your
medicals, your PR visa will be valid for those 5 months.

    > (iii) Is it possible to get my visa extended, once stamped?

Nope !
If you don't land by then, you will lose the chance to land.
No way around it.

    > (iv) How do I send my passport for stamping from here to India (New
    > Delhi)

You can't.

    > (v) Will the Immigration section(New Delhi) send the passports here

Nope !

    > (vi) Is it not illegal to send passport by post

Yes.

Best wishes.
