Default Our plan!

Hi you all After reading all the threads about finding work and not sitting on your butt waiting hehe Im now 100% sure this is the right thing for us to do. Theres just one thing that Ive suddenly become unsure about Our plans are for myself to apply for a study visa therefore my partner should get a open work visa. We figured this would then be easier for him to find work as he would legally be able to do so and start the job as soon as employer wanted. My question is ... If he got an offer of permenant employment but it was not in a job that Canada has a shortage of skilled workers for, would we still be able to put in for PR using the job offer to fast track it?
Thanks for your help guys

If you can get an LMO from HRSDC you should be okay.

If you entered Canada on a study permit, your partner would be able to get a spousal open work permit.

If your partner receives a permanent job offer once he's working in Canada on a temporary work permit, the employer who offers him the permanent job must apply to Human Resources and Social Development Canada for an Arranged Employment Opinion (AEO). HRSDC issues AEOs for occupations listed in Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification.

That's what it states on this page of Citizenship and Immigration Canada's website.

Applications for permanent residence visas that are backed up by AEO are fast tracked. Anecdotal reports on the forum suggest that applicants who have AEOs up their sleeves are getting PR visas within a year.
