Default Options for extended stay if we open an office in Canada

So i'm hopefully heading to BC for 2 years on the working holiday visa, my current situation is pretty lucky as i can keep my current job whilst i'm out there to pay for my stay (i'm technically self employed but working full time for a company).

I was wondering after the 2 years are there other options to stay longer? Say for example if we opened an office in Canada that i would run and employed a few locals, would that help me stay on a different visa? i assume it's not quite that simple. i'm not looking at PR at the moment which is why i'm wondering about other ways to extend my stay.

Out of interest, why not PR? Presumably after a year or so you'd know if you wanted to stay longer term, so I'm not sure I'd bother with another temp permit unless you were still undecided.

But you can look at an intra-company Temp Work Permit if you do only want another temp permit. Info on that visa route is in the Wiki.

HTH.

I'm not sure on PR yet because of family etc, it's a big step being away permanently rather than say 5 years for example.

Ok thanks i'll check out the intra-company temp work permit.

PR does not mean that you are required to stay forever .

If you are not an employee, but a contractor, that won't be an option. It is only for employees.

Opening an office and employing people would be quite an expense for the business, with incorporation costs etc. You would also have to be an employee of that company, with one client, CRA won't consider you self employed.
