Hi Everyone

I am currently in Canada with a work permit attached to a position. My wife also has her own permit as a post-doctoral fellow in academia. I was offered a new position in a company and I was intending to apply for a open work permit for me, due to the fact I won't need an LMO then. But the processing times in Vegreville doesn't seem to be going down soon and the company is willing to wait for an application there.

Any one had experience applying for a work permit change at the border, especially from a "close" permit to a open one? As I live in Toronto I was intending to drive down to the Niagara border to apply for it.
