Whoop! We reccieved our request for our passoports today 
so hopefully after a trip to Abu Dhabi tomorrow we should have everything sorted!
I ended up sending an e-mail marked "urgent" to the Abu Dhabi embassy asking if we could tranfer the application to South Africa as we need to leave UAE.
Happy Days We will hopefully arrive in Van on monday!
