Did some shopping and headed back, Declared all goods as we went through and paid the Tax.

At the immigration desk the line of questioning was as suspected, has your TWP run out? No.
But once I had dome some subtle pleading explaining the situation he told us to take a seat, he went to a back office and went through the paperwork.
25 nerveracking min later I was asked to go to the cash desk and pay the 2 X $150 fees!

So if anyone gets into this mess seems a NEW TWP application as opposed to requesting and extension prior to it actually expiring is the way to go.

The ask for a new TWP only transpired when the legal assistant at the very large firm of Lawyers actually spoke to the Lawyer!

So ultimately weeks of sleepless nights and worry for little reason, when the first thing I asked them when the timings were short was to do a POE, but the message coming back was that it was too high risk!
Really good news, congrats!

I thought TWP renewals go to Vegreville, AB? Do they end up at Sydney for processing?

Citizenship cards? What citizenship cards? We were talking about TWP renewals through the processing centre in Vegreville.

All the in-Canada processing times are here. Vegreville is currently quoting 76 days for TWP extensions for same employer.

Except on the back of the TWP, it states if you wish to extend your stay, you should return your application at least 30 Days before expiry, hence the expectation has been previously that and extension is pretty simple.

I am sure they are sitting on their hands for reasons other than the daily workload.

Quite....

Even though the recently issued "suggestion" that there is less reliance on TWP's hasn't been officially implemented, it appears to be being enforced, even if it's just by having a go slow....
