Default OHIP Card

Hi All,

I am planning on landing in canada in Mid January. Will be there for 2 days and then am returning to USA( I am planning on moving permanently to canada in 2-3 months though). Should I and Can I apply for OHIP card for me and my wife. I want to apply for OHIP card now because OHIP get effective after 3 months so if i apply it now when i enter canada permanently i will be having coverage.

Nice try, but no cigar, the 3 months waiting period is after residing in the province, which you have to prove.

Macho,
I went through the process and they won't ask you whether you plan to leave straight after applying. You need a permanent address and dual proof of residency to apply though, so maybe that kills it. But if you had all that and say, went on holiday for three months ... ?

Just my 2c.
