Default No goods to follow

In preparation for my hopeful landing (obviously we need approval first lol) sometime in this millenia, a thought occured.

Seeing as I already 'live' here with my hubby, when we go across the border and come back and land - I won't have any goods to follow.

When I first got here 4 years ago I only had a suitcase anyway lol.

So say we do some shopping in the states whilst we land - will what we buy be classed as my goods accompanying - and do they have the same exemptions (if there are any??? ) as a newly landed pr with a shedload of accompanying stuff.

Not that it matters either way but I just don't want to be run through the mill by a B/O for not having lists of stuff.

TIA

Might I suggest for your reading pleasure that you look over the following
http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/d...d2-2-1-eng.pdf
Pay particular attention to para 4 on page 3 and para 14 on page 4

Good try though

Wasn't trying anything, soooo bloody suspicious you lot - if we do some shopping it'll be declared as new goods then (thanks for the link).

But what about the lack of goods to follow or goods accompanying - presumably if there are none it doesn't matter then. Or do you still need to make a list and write "bugger all" on it?

A verbal declaration on landing is sufficient although Im sure the BSO will notate this on the machine generated B15 which will act as the B4 or they will just handwrite out a B4.

I could also start singing "I who have nothing"

Not sure how that'll go down though so maybe not.

I guess it depends on if you sound like Tom Jones or Shirley Bassey?
Actually both sound like fellas so Id give it a miss and chances are the BSO would have no idea about what you are singing about or that it was even a song.

If you have family back in UK and there is any chance you would inherit anything from any of them, I'd put whatever on a GTF list.

As I understand it, you don't actually have to go across the border to land.
If you receive PR while already here working on TWP, you can make an appointment to go to an office inland and 'land' there.

That gets round most of the questions you are asking.

It is OK for us either way, as we live so close to the US border but if anyone lives a few hours drive away then it might be useful for them to know that.

I thought that option was only for PNP applicants? Did they extend it?

Thanks HC was aware of that - however we want to take a trip down south anyway so he can carry me back over the 'threshhold' of Canada on the way in.

Sh*t need to start that diet

I may suggest that to my husband as well, then.

Anybody know where I can buy a really strong wheelbarrow?
