Thumbs up newbie

:scared:
Hi everyone,
just logged in although I have been checking discussions for sometime now.
I am May 04 (18 month) AOR.

Last week received request for new photos and updated financial info.
So fingers crossed for med. requests soon.

We are looking to move to Airdrie, Alberta and will probably be buying a small franchise, whilst my wife studies for even better qualifications.
House not selling, exchange rate down the pan, no med. requests, trying to save, living like a pauper, cheap Christmas, angry one day, happy the next, just trudging on, bored of being asked 'how's Canada going?', sick of discourteous and inconsiderate brits, sick of chavs, sick of the whole process.
So I should fit right in on this site.
Good luck to all.
G

Welcome, you'll do fine

Many in/been in the same position.

Good luck & keep the faith, most find that the pain of the long big PR sleep is worth it in the end.

can understand the feeling. Its only 4 months since i sent in my application and have to wait for another 32 months just to hear something from cic.

I had told only a few people about my plans to go to canada, but now it is as if the whole place knows about it, I get asked by everyone as to when i am going. When I tell them that maybe it could take another 4 years, they give me a wierd look as though i am a crazy guy.

LOL my wife told the peeps at work and had to endure a year + of 'when are you going' 'how much longer' 'are you still going' blah de blah.

With hindsight she would have kept her mouth shut, but after she told a few select peeps at work she got all so excited about Canada that she counldn't not tell other peeps, especially as things progressed, and she had a job offer etc.

Rich.

lol - I just happened to phone an old collegue of mine the other day back in UK regarding a work related issue and he asked how things were going and had I heard any more about when I was moving. Obviously hadn't missed me much - felt great to say I have been here nearly 5 months.

I went through a full year of hearing the question from freinds that knew - I was glad people at work did not know because it gave me a safe haven from the dreaded question.
