New PR card

Can anyone tell me how you renew your Pr once you have done the 5 years?

I know you can apply for citizenship after 3, but what happens if you just want to continue with PR status?

If I am allowed to enter at Port Of Entry when I am short of few weeks to complete 2 years stay out of five years, can I pull on without renewing my PR card till I complete the days required and then apply for renewal?
