Here you go:

Effective until February 1, 2006

Size of Family Unit Minimum necessary income
1 person (the sponsor) $19,795
2 persons $24,745
3 persons $30,774
4 persons $37,253
5 persons $41,642
6 persons $46,031
7 persons $50,421
For each additional person $4,390

You will always find LICO table in the Guide for Sponsor (5196E.pdf) on CIC website. Remember that guides and visa post specific instructions are updated or changed quite often, so you always should check for newer versions before completing application package and submitting it.

Thanks a lot Andrew I checked the guide to sponsor parents and it has not been updated yet, It says call CIC.

It does not suprise me because processing of parents sponsorship has been stopped.

Seems that you didn't check properly. The figures I provided are from the page 36 of the guide dated January 2005 here:

www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5196E.PDF

Don't rely on HTML version of the guide as it is often updated late or never. Always download pdf version and check the date in the bottom left corner of the title page to see if it is newer version than the one you were using.

Above guide dated January 2005 is on CIC website since at least last week.

Those are the big questions. All I know is that the processing time keeps increasing and they have been"reviewing" aplications received on june 24th 2003 for some months now. Check out this website

hi,
My wife and I want to sponsor my father to come to canada.
Does the minimal income apply only to me or to both of us?
for example: let's say we each make 25000 and the requirement for
3 family members is 30000 (i sponsored my wife) will they calculate our income as 50000 or 25000?

thanks

hi,
My wife and I are planning to sponsor my father to come to canada.
Will CIC use the sum of our incomes to check if we meet the minimal
income requirement?

thanks

The first question is - when did you sponsor your wife and did your undertaking agreement already ended?

If you are still under the agreement then you cannot sponsor anyone.

If agreement ended then you may ask your spouse to be a co-signer and only then your spouses income will count.

I'm sorry, I have misread your post. You may sponsor family class members (other than spouse or common-law partner) if you previously sponsored a spouse and undertaking agreement is still in force as long as you are not in default of that existing agreement and you don't owe any re-payments.

hi, another question regarding this:
I'm a graduate student at a canadian university and I receive an annual funding/scholarship of $24000 will it count towards my total income?

thanks

Excuse me - could someone please tell me what "LICO" means?

Perhaps someone could post a 'Read me' thread header with a glossary of terms re all the Immigration lingo? I notice I'm not the only one confused by all this

Just a thought.....
