Default Need Some Advice..

Ok, so I am a native to the UK, and I have been intending on immigrating to Canada ever since my first trip many years ago, now I have obviously matured since then and have researched my options, I am currently 17 years old, and am currently studying IT at College level. I also have a Canadian partner (of many years) over in Kelowna, BC. My plans are basically to finish college, and then try and find a job (with my partners help) in the Kelowna/Kamloops area. If I did indeed find someone willing to sponsor me, would I then need to apply for the Skilled worker visa or would it be a different method?

One idea would be when you're 18 get a year working visa through BUNAC, you could live with your partner for a year and then she could sponsor you as her common-law partner, that's what I'm doing!

Wow I never thought of that, so I would have to find a job, apply for the visa and then sort out the rest whilst over there working?

Don't mean to be rude or anything, Natonstan, but are you really 17 years old or is that a typo? Just that the use of the words ' partner of many years' would mean a whole lot different to most of us than you must mean if you are 17. (I would say my partner is 'of many years' and that is 16 years of marriage!)
Anyway, with a close family member as sponsor, you would get extra points towards a Federal Skilled Worker application. If you manage to get a job offer, as you mentioned and then get a positive LMO, then you will gain more points towards your total. You need to look at the CIC website and calculate your points score to see if you meet the required total. If you do, then you can apply.

BUNAC is an open work visa, you don't need a job offer to apply for it, you can wait until you get over to Canada and then find a job if you like.
