National Vocational qualifications (NVQ's)
Hi all
Has anyone had their NVQ qualifications positively recoginsed as part of their immirgration application and or with Canadian Employers??
If so did the NQV's get accepted as a 2 year diploma?
I have a City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 and Level 4 in Health and Social Care I also have a City & Guilds Registered Managers Award (RMA). Each of these qualifications can take up to 2 years to complete but I completed them both within 18 months.
Until CIC give information out about which agencies will be approved for verifying qualifications I am reluctant to approach an organisation.

My scaffolding NVQ's were not recognised for employment here, but I think they count for immigration purposes...

Canadian employers don't care or have a clue what an NVQ is.

Re: National Vocational qualifications (NVQ's)
From my personal experience the NVQ itself is pretty worthless (Other than immigration points).
My NVQ was dependant on getting a college certificate/diploma (in my day ONC/OND-HNC/HND).
I have found that the OND and HND are recognised as they are typically full time education courses whereas the ONC/HNC are part time and therefore not recognised!
However with the above it is my experience dealing with the provincial associations that matter to me and my occupation. It is better to find out before you take the plunge than after so the basic questions are always:
What is your occupation?
What is you province?
This will hopefully steer you in the direction of the correct 'body' that will/will not certify you.
