Default My Sister visiting from UK wants to stay in Canada

Hello,

Looking for some advice. My sister who is over 30 and from the UK with her two kids want to stay permanently in Alberta. With school starting in September does anybody know any way to register the kids in school while she looks for a company to sponsor her? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome to BE.

The kids can’t usually attend school on visitor records. When did she arrive and what does she do? A LMIA is likely to take several months anyway so personally I’d suggest she returns to the U.K. so the kids can carry on without any interruption to their schooling (plus with healthcare etc). She can then wrap things up properly before moving.

You don’t mention their father, just checking that he’s with them or has given his permission (written) for the kids to stay permanently?
