Default My package of application, Mr. Miller, Please advice

Mr. Miller,

The following is my whole package of application I plan to send to
Buffalo. Please advice if there is anything missing or wrong. Thanks a
lot.
I really appreciate it.
--------------------------

My background: 27 years old, Master degree(17.5 years education), 2.2
years fulltime software engineer, 2.5 years part-time RA, married,
spouse(B.S. 15 years education), and my uncle is Canadian PR.

Application:

1. FORMS
IMM0008(06-2002)E ( me)
IMM0008(06-2002) SCHEDULE 1 ( both)
IMM0008(06-2002) SCHEDULE 3 ( me)
IMM 5406 (both)

NO IMM5476

4 photoes ( ~32mm X ~43 mm) for each of us.

2. Copy of birth certificate ( both, notarized)
Copy of Marriage certificate (notarized)

3. NO CHILDREN
4. Photocopy of passport, visa (both of us, NOT notarized)
5. Photocopy of my uncle's IMM1000 ( NOT notarized)
Photocopy of my uncle's birth certificate ( NOT notarized)
Photocopy of my mom's birth certificate (NOT notarized)

6. Me:
Master degree diploma (notarized copy)
B. S. diploma (official copy from china)
Offical original Transcript for both master
and B.S in the sealed envelope
Spouse:
B. S. diploma (offical copy from china)
official original transcript, but NOT in a sealed
envelope.
(It's very difficult, almost not possible to get it in a
sealed envelope)

7.
My full-time software engineer work:
1. A notarized original letter from HR staff to verify my employeement
status, title, salary. ( signed at Feb.)
2. A original letter from my boss to describe my detailed
responsibilities at the company and also my title, salary and work
period. (Signed at Apr.)
3. A original letter from HR head to verify my employeement status,
title, salary, benefit, job responsibility, etc. (Signed at Mar.)
4. Business card from HR head and my boss.
5. photocopy of my 2002 W-2 and recent pay stub.
6. Notarized copy of additional training as a software engineer such
as oracle, J2EE professional training certificate.

My part-time GRA work:
-----------------------------------------------
!!! This is my concern: Based on other documents, I can get 77 points(
I will take IELTS on Jun, and pretty sure I can get highest score). Do
I need to put my GRA work here because I can't get a letter from my
previous professor to verify my RA duties and responsibilites, alrough
I can let the university to write a letter to verify from when to when
I worked as a GRA without any details about the work which they can't
provide?? Someone kindly advice many applicants get lower points than
they assessed themself, but from the material I provided, I don't see
any loose end for them to lower my score, Am I right?
-----------------------------------------------

What I can provide:

1. I-20 which show my salary, title as GRA.
2. A letter from the department to show from when to when I worked as
a GRA, no details.
3. W-2 I got for my GRA work.

8.
1. I have included A letter to detail my training and use of English
during last 17 years. (I put a note attached to SCHEDULE 3 saying that
my IELTS is scheduled on June and I will send them score as soon as
it's available)
2. Notarized copy of my Graduate Teaching Assistant Certificate
3. Photocopy of my TOEFL/GRE/TWE original score from ETS.
4. Photocopy of papers I published in English.

---------------------------------------------------

9. N/A
10.N/A
11. Original account verification letter from bank.
12.

1. Original fingerprint sheet with no-criminal resuls stamped on the
back from FBI ( stamped on Mar. 2003) for both of us.
2. Original no-criminal certificate from chinese for both of us.
They are stamped on 1998 and 1999.
( I am trying to get a newer version now and will send to them
after I got my AOR file number together with my IELTS score, is that
ok?)

13.

Cashier check ($720 USD) payable to 'Canadian Consulate General'

Thanks so much!

Everything you listed seems OK but without detailed assessment of your case
I can't tell you if there is anything more you should include or if any
changes are needed with some of documents you have. But note that following
the checklist alone is not always sufficient enough and in many cases
additional documents are needed. Also the content of documents is important.
I can't give you any approval seal based on short posting here, it doesn't
work that way, sorry.

Default question about your application

Hi Lin:

Do you just fill in new forms to add to your existing application? Have you been requested to send new photos, W2, transcript, etc? Does the old applicatin include 3 photos, marriage certificate, birthcertificate, etc? Why you need to send it again?

Can you ask CIC to reevaluate your English capability based on the material you provide instead of taking the exam? I read a case that a person has a US degree should be fine with English and he got approval without taking the exam. You can check www.immigration.com forum.

Have you use CAIPS to check your score?

I am at the same boat as you are. I applied a month or two after you did. I do not know whether CIC will ask me to take the exam also. I do not know why CIC let some other people pass without taking the exam. Can you share more experience with me? My email: [email protected]

Thanks,
