Both of us are in canada. I am a PR and he is a on a tourist visa.

How fast is the processing time at buffalo?
I was told they are very slow. Is that true?

Can I ask it to be processed in another embassy which might be faster?
Since he is 6 months old the processing should be very fast. (no
interview, no background check, the medicals were already done) so I
wouldn't want him to be in the 1 year queue etc.

Thanks for your advice!

Your only choices are Buffalo or your country of citizenship so Buffalo
makes the most sense. The time should be about 6 months.

Thanks for the answer.
I looked at the Buffalo web site and call their automated answering
service and they talk about 1 year backlog and 18 months wait!

Did you mention 6 months because it is an infant and they give him
priority?

I was thinking of asking them to send the file to my home country
where I was told they will process it in less then 6 months.

Should I stick with Buffalo? How long would it take to transfer the
file?

Thanks!!
