Default Multiple police checks - UK, USA, Canada

Hi all, I've been searching, but am finding conflicting advice on police checks.

We are about to put in the PNP application in Alberta. We've been here for six months, lived in USA for four years prior to that, and England and Scotland before that.

So, I've been told that we should apply for our police checks now as they take a while. I am clear on the UK checks and have the info for the FBI checks, but am not too sure about the RCMP checks.

Do we need them as we have been here for 6 months? Apparently our PR application will need to go to London as we've not been in Canada for a year, so do I go down to the main police station in Edmonton for the fingerprinting or do I get the digital printing - will London accept these? This is where I am getting confused.

Thanks for any help - I'm having one of those information overload days

Yes, I just hadn't looked enough on the CIC for the info as to whether I needed an RCMP check, and thankfully I didn't.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...ica/canada.asp

"Canada

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
No. The Canadian visa office will notify applicants if RCMP fingerprint checks are required."
