I have an open work permit that's restricted. It says:
"NOT AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN 1) CHILD CARE, 2) PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOL
TEACHING, 3) HEALTH SERVICES FIELD OCCUPATIONS"
I am thinking of teaching math to high school students through
a private tutoring company.
Am I allowed??
Also, I am volunteering at a local hospital as a receptionist.
Does that matter? (I'm not really "working" per say, just "volunteering")
Thank you!

Clearly you cannot do the work of a teacher. The problem is probably that
you have not taken an immigration medical examination.

Your work permit is restricted as you haven't pass medicals required to work
in fields mentioned. Thus working as a tutor for high school students is not
permitted. Being a receptionist (paid or not) in the hospital should be OK
as receptionist is not an occupation in health services field.

Yes, the medicals was the problem.
Anyways, I did do my medicals, and asked CIC today if they
received the info and they said no.
Do you know how long it takes for CIC to have medicals info
in their system after getting medicals done?
I'm planning on filing change of conditions once CIC has
my medicals info.
Thanks

Anywhere from few weeks to few months, depending from the workload at the
particular time.
