1. If I get an interview waiver and they ask me to medical after 6 months, what is the possibility of them asking me to attend interview after that and evaluate me against the new rule (pass mark 70, i applied in Nov 01). If there is an interview will they reevaluate me on the the selection criteria or will it be pertaining to some thing else found during background/ security check.
2. What is done as part of background check
2. What is done as part of background check

1. There is always a possibility for initial interview waiver to be
re-assessed and you may be called for selection interview anyway. It usually
happens when new facts or doubt are showing up during background/security
check and verification/authentication of your education and experience
credentials. If you will be called for selection interview (regardless
initial waiver) after March 2003 then you will be assessed against new
selection criteria and transitional pass mark of 70 points.
2. Background/security check is conducted by Canadian security agencies
(CSIS and RCMP), independently from the immigration authorities, with and/or
without a cooperation of proper agencies and authorities in all countries
you have resided for 6 months or more. This tasks is to find out if you are
or were at any time involved in any criminal activity, organized crime,
espionage, terrorism, war crimes, crimes against humanity or any other
activity that may pose a threat to the security of Canada and Canadians and
if you are or were a part of or working for any government or organization
involved in war crimes, human rights abuse and crimes against humanity.
Depending on your nationality, background and countries you have resided in
this process may take from few months to well over a year to conclude.
After 9/11 such security check for nationals of many countries is more
detailed as well as more difficult to conduct thus may take quite longer.
