Mr. Miller Please have alook for Managerial Experience For Investor Category.
What is meant by Managerial Experience for person applying as
Investor? Can an Engineer with 10 years of ecperience and running a
department as department manager in a big venture be eligible as
Investor and his experience can consider as managerial.

To qualify as Investor person must have a net worth of at least Can$ 800,000
*and* qualifying business experience *and* be able, willing and ready to
deposit Can$ 400,000 into government approved immigration investment fund for 5
years. This is how Regulations define *qualifying business experience* required
from Investors:

(a) an investor, other than an investor selected by a province, means
(b) the management of a qualifying business and the control of a percentage of
equity of the qualifying business for at least two years in the period
beginning five years before the date of application for a permanent resident
visa and ending on the day a determination is made in respect of the
application, or
(c) the management of at least five full-time job equivalents per year in a
business for at least two years in the period beginning five years before the
date of application for a permanent resident visa and ending on the day a
determination is made in respect of the application;

Less than 1,800 applicants in Investor category were approved last year. It is
strongly recommended to use professional assistance in this category - well
experienced professional will not only assure that your qualifications are well
proven and presented but more importantly can arrange investment loan program
for up to 70% of the required deposit of Can$ 400,000.

Yes you can apply as an Investor provided you supervise the correct
number of employees and can meet the financial criteria as per the
definition of Investor as found in the Regulations.
