Default Mr. Miller, Please Advise <Passport Request, Delay Visa Issuance>

Hi Mr. Miller,

We received the passport request from Manila Embassy
two days ago. My wife is expecting and due around 3rd
week October 2004. Our visa will expire on 3rd week
of January 2005 according to the letter. I have few
questions:

1. Can we ask the embassy to delay the visa issuance
so that we can include the baby in our application?

2. We can only complete all the documents for the baby
(i.e. updated forms, processing fee, medical, birth
cert, & passport) latest by December 2004 one month
before the visa expires. Can we ask them also to
extend the visa validity? If not, are we required to
do the medicals again?

3. Could you advise us on the best way on how to
handle the situation?

Thank you very much.

Notify Manila Embassy that you are unable to land before your wife gives birth and ask them for instructions how to proceed. Visa posts have often their own internal policies for cases like this, thus the best route is to ask them directly.

Providing of course that you don't want to come to Canada before baby is born.
