Mr. Miller or anyone who know the answer:
I have made a photocoy of my origional marriage certificate. Do I have
to take it to a notary office, ie. lawyer ? Who is authorized to sign
the copy to certify that this is a true copy of the origional ?
Can a professional engineer sign the copy ? I am a citizen of Canada,
and sponsoring my spouse.
Thanks!

Take the original to the notary or lawyer and ask for certified true copy -
he or she will make copy of the original and certify it as true copy. Nobody
will certify copy made by yourself. Many banks and real estate offices have
notaries on staff and often provide such simple service free of charge.

Provided the marriage certificate is in English and done in Canada, I don't
believe it is necessary if it is for use in a spousal sponsored PR visa
case, according to the CIC app forms.
Am I correct?
