Hello Sir,

along with my med request ,I have been asked by CIC to submit police clearence certficates from all countries I have stayed in for more than 6 months.

I had been living in the UK till the end of 2003 and have never returned there since. I have a police certificate issued by the relevent authority in the UK which was issued in Oct,2006. I also provided PCC while I lodged my application in January 2004

would the October,2006 certficate suffice for my purpose? or do I have to get a new certificate. it takes ages to get a new PCC from my police area in th UK.

No, it won't. It is irrelevant that you haven't been in UK since your last police certificate - you may have been convicted in absentia for example. When visa post asks for up to date police certificates it means up to date.
