Miller !!! Wife`s record of Landing????
I sponsered my wife while she was in Norway. Now she is in Canada with me.
We informed her address change to London. She was asked to send her passport to London office and the Online status now says " Decision Made ". So, we are hoping passport has been stamped and on its way home. " My situation is more like .. 'Sponsering from outside Canada became Inland sponsering' " My questions are... 1. What should we do NEXT as soon as we get her stamped passport with PR visa? 2. What should we do about her RECORD OF LANDING? (since she is already here...) 3. Can she just apply for PR card and SIN? or should she go through any other formalities like people coming through immigration (airport or border crossing)? |

Firstly, I should point out...it's "Mr. Miller" to you and all of us here. "Miller" is exceptionally rude. :-) > 1. What should we do NEXT as soon as we get her stamped passport with PR > visa? You should 'land' as soon as possible so she can live/work/study. > 2. What should we do about her RECORD OF LANDING? (since she is already > here...) She will get her PR card. > 3. She will have to go 'round the pole', leaving Canada but coming back straight away. That's best done at a border crossing. You literally just cross the border line and turn right around. When I did it though, I went to the US checkpoint, told one of the US guys "you see me here, right? I'm going back to Canada now" and walked on back. That was 10 years ago, before they suspected everyone of being up to something...and before I found out you didn't actually have to go further than the border lines to round the pole. :-) -- Say "I am not American" in TWELVE languages. Re: Miller !!! Wife`s record of Landing????
It is not an inland case at all. Fact of your wife being in Canada doesn't
make it an inland case - it is a sponsorship from abroad and once she gets her passport back with visa and landing documents she must leave Canada and re-enter to complete landing process. Only after that she will become a PR and will be able to go ahead with SIN, health and other stuff. She doesn't really need to go any further than Canada - US border crossing. leave Canada and turn around before getting to US immigration in order to re-enter Canada. In many border crossing just walking around Canadian immigration building will do the trick. -- ../..
