Miller and All,help please...timeline issue....

Miller/All,
I applied in Buffulo last June(independent)and completed the medical exam in early March after the interview waiver. The e client status only shows "in process...we started processing your app in Sep.25,2001.." I assume they are conducting background checks at this stage. But my passport is expiring this December, so my question is, what happens if they are unable to make the decision by that time? I heard that PR visa valid date is until the expiration date of one's passport or one year after the medical exam, which ever comes first. In my case, the December 2002 definitely comes first. Should I send them the passport renewal page(I plan to renew it soon) or does it matter? Thanks very much for your time, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thom.

You should renew your passport as soon as possible and notify Buffalo about new
expiration date (send them copy as well).
