Default Migrating to Quebec

Hi
I would like to apply for Quebec. Now my question is:
Is knowing french mandatory for Quebec immigration?
If I do not know french but still have enough points, Can I apply ?
Thanks

You probably need an immigration lawyer for more detail. But look at it from Quebec's point of view. It would not be very smart for them to select immigrants who don't have either a. very good French or b. arranged employment.

If you want to emigrate as a Quebec selected immigrant, then you need to be able to speak french. They use it as an overriding criteria.

They say that you will not be able to fully integrate without this ability.

They do not expect you to be fully fluent, but they do expect you to have a working knowledge of the language.

If you do not speak any french, it would probably take between 6 and 8 months of full time study to get the level they want.

You can still apply, but part of the process is an interview in Paris (if you are from the UK). This interview is conducted in french.

If you speak no French at all going into this interview, they are likely to turn you down. They will probably be quite rude about it (though you will not understand what they are saying).

If you speak some french and meet their other requirements, they may give you an extra year to get up to the required standard. But this is totally at their discretion.

Have you tried the The online Evalution?

Try this first, and if you have any questions I'll help if I can.
