Default Medicals for PR - Mr. Miller or any other expert please help.

I have sent my passports to CHC, London for insertion of visas on October 09, 2002 and I am expecting to get them back soon. I plan to land in Alberta, Canada in March 2003. My question is :-

Do I have to do medicals in Canada when I am applying for the PR card ?

Your reply will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Pearl

Hi Pearl,

I'm not party to the experts you summoned to answer your query. Anyways, if memory serves there was no mention anywehre in the CIC web site that medical exams is a prerequisite to PR card application/issuance. What I recall is that a landed immigrant must pay the mandatory CAN$50 per applicant.

"CIC will process applications according to a published schedule based on the applicant's year of landing." If you were to land on March 2003 you would have to await CIC's communique on the application date corresponding your landing date. Otherwise, communicate directly with CIC from within.

By they way, have you read my mail sent to your yahoo account yet? Hope to receive your note soon. Cheers!
