Default Medicals before application

To those of you who have applied via the inland spousal route.

Now that we can take our medicals before applying, what is the procedure. Do they send you the results in a sealed envelope and then you send them with your application. Or do you take your medicals and note in your application which doctor or where you took them and the CIC send to them for the medicals.

It would be great if those who have been through this could explain their experiences.

It is the doctor (DMP) who sends medical report to CIC, not you. All you
need is to take the form (Appendix C) from application kit (5289E.pdf) to
the doctor and s/he will know what to do. You will have to complete and sign
additional forms in doctor's office and you will get a receipt from doctor
confirming that medicals were done. You must include that receipt with your
application.

But before you do anything please read several times all instructions,
guides, forms and questionnaires from application kit - your question
indicates that you either didn't read anything or you misunderstood the
process.

Thanks Mr Miller

I just re-checked the application guide and it had been updated since I printed my copy. The medical exam section is now better explained. From now on I shall check incase newer updates are available before asking dumb questions. Thanks for alerting this to me.

Hello Mr Miller,
you got me a bit confused here: after having checked 5289E (current
download) a careful as I can, I still only find the list of accredited
physicians, not any kind of form in Appendix C. Did you perhaps mix this
up with Appendix D (instructions for photographer) for the chapter on
medical requirement refers to the necessary photos to bring along for the
medicals?
Nonetheless thank you so much for restlessly responding in this newsgroup.

Best regards,
Michael

Don't worry - doctor will have everything. It seems that CIC removed the
form as unnecessary from most recent 5289 guide.

If you want you may download guide for spouses sponsored from abroad (for
example 3901e.pdf for Western Europe) and you'll find there a basic form,
but again - it is not really needed as doctor (DMP) will have all the forms.

When you go to the doctor they will have all the forms neccessary for
the medical there. Only doctors recognized by the CIC have access to
these forms which is why you can only get the medical from doctors
specified by CIC. You fill in a couple forms that the doctor gives you
and when the medical is complete you get a receipt that has your
picture on it etc that proves you have had it done. That receipt gets
sent with your app. The doctor sends everything to the visa office
that you are applying from, where it sits until you send in your app
and they are ready to look at it. If anything is worrysome on your
medical the doctor will let you know. Quite an easy process really,
just a tad expensive Don't forget your photos, they don't need to
be immigration photos like those specified in the appendix...ordinary
passport photos will do(or so the doctor told us anyways!) Good luck
and happy waiting!
