Default Medicals for baby

Hi

I need some guidance on how to progress with our medicals. We recieved our medicals request back in November 2009, and promptly had our medicals completed. However, as my wife was pregnant, she did not get her chest x ray done. Canadian High Commission told us to send the chest x ray once the baby was born and also send the baby's passport pictures and birth certificate.

Now that we have had our baby , I was told that even babies need to have their medicals done, so in our case is it best to send the baby's pictures and birth certificate and then when they send us his medical form, we get the baby's medical and my wife's chest xray done at the same time??

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do as they asked as quickly as possible and hope that the medical forms for the child come through soon. Your wife can take the X-ray now and the child can take the very simple medical as soon as the instructions are received.

thanks for that. my wife has organised her chest xray to be done this week and we will send out the passport pictures and his birth certificate.

By the way, do you have any idea if there are any more forms that we might have to fill out? and what does a baby's medical entail?

cheers

You have to pay a fee for the new dependent as well.

Pretty simple, no x-ray, no urinalysis, no blood tests, no eye test, see: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english//pdf/pu...ndbook2009.pdf Sec. 11.5
Don't forget that you will have to amend you application and you and spouses IMM 5406.
