Default medicals

Hello everyone,

I just finished the medical exam in Chicago. In a few weeks, I will
be moving to Wyoming due to job relocation. In case I am required to
have another medical exam in the future, I cannot go back to the same
doctor in Illinois for the medicals. There are no DMPs assigned in
Wyoming. The closest DMP to my new location is 400 miles away (in
South Dakota). What should I do if another exam is required? If
other tests are needed, can I request that the tests be done by a
doctor in the city where I will live?

Kindly help.

Thanks.

you can only have medicals done at a DMP initially and i am pretty certain
any further tests have to be done at the same DMP for consistancy so really
you would have little choice but to go back to Chicago for teh medical
tests, but hopefuly that wont happen as extra test arent too common unless
you are aware of any current illness or problems taht may trigger extra
tests.
I recall recently someone posting a similar question who had actually left
the country and then had to go for extra tests and him being told by one of
the experts he had no choice but to return to the USA for the tests as he
couldn't transfer them to the DMP in India.
i think there is a 3 month delay for extra tests if its repeat chest xrays
etc so youd have plenty of time to organise a trip back and possibly you
could inform the visa post (if you actually do get told to do more) that you
will have trouble getting there and are there any options etc.

If additional or follow up tests are required then you must go to the same DMP
who performed original tests.

You can request that you do your medicals with another DMP or in extreme cases you can request that a non listed DMP be used.
but 400 miles is acceptable travelling distance. You may have to do it.

No, you cannot use a non accredited with CIC doctor, period. It has to be a
listed DMP and in the case of follow-ups or additional tests it has to be the
same DMP who conducted the first check as only such can follow up first
results.

Hi Burak,
Do you remember me? I used to work for you when Erda Electronic AS was in
Tunel/Galatasaray... That was back then 1985ish. Now I live in the U.S. I
moved here almost 8-9 years ago. I was browsing the news groups and I saw
your posts about immigrating to CAN. Hope everything is OK.
