But I should have had the choice of being advised of having to pay for it....which was my point.

Had a look for a link, couldn't find where I read it on CIC website, but it is not easy to navigate back to points if you cannot remember where you read them. It was where a warning was issued for non-payment of fees and how that would be viewed by CHC.

Hi, I completely agree with you that you shouldn't have been charged, my point it that they shouldnt have made an extra charge in the first place as the fee is for a chest film, and if they need to do more to get that PA view then that shouldnt be passed on to you. I think I found the link and could see nothing that referred to extra films and a charge.

I apologise if you read "nonsense" as not very nice. It's a word I use often but not in a disparaging way.

Anyway you got your images done, it's just a shame that the experience wasn't as smooth as it could have been.

Hi
I have been racking my brain as to where I read it. I did read it and thought of it as a bit of a 'if you don't pay up for your medicals, we will tell CHC and it will be a black mark' sort of notation.....coz I thought....my god thats a bit strong. I suppose it is a deterrent for non payers......which won't affect the great and good...so to speak. I know we printed off the forms which the DMP would use, so we could look at the questions. Maybe it was on the DMP site.
I will keep looking and let you know if I find it
lol

Why are you sending your passports off on the 3rd Feb? Were you told to do so? I have seen other posts in the past with people saying they wait a month and then send theirs off but I thought you had to wait for a letter asking for them?

Only asking because we did our meds on the 4th too and now I'm wondering if we have to send ours too?

Bex,

When we had our Medical Requests, we also had the appendix stating that we are to send our passports 30 days after the date of our Medicals. 30 days is the 3rd of Feb.

We also have to send 2 more "updated" photographs and complete an updated information sheet, just one side of an A4 with height and eye colour etc.

Regards

Nigel, wow another example of how everyone seems to get a different experience! We never had that Appendix or sheet, wonder what we're suppose to do then? Guess they will send a letter asking for passports? We paid the PR fee back in Oct so everythings paid for, didn't know about more extra photos to send either

Bex,

From what i've read on here, you either have the passport request when you get the Medical request or they will send you the request for passports seperately.

I sent my application for PR in late October 2009, and like you, paid the full fees, including the RPRF.

The letter I got from CIC had three steps, Step 1 - Pay RPRF (which was marked as already paid). Step 2 - Immigration Medical and Step 3 - Submit passports and updated photographs. (Not sure how my appearance has changed since October lol).

Appendix 1 was in relation to the medicals, Appendix 2 about sending passports 30 days after the medical.

All being well, PR should be through by Mid Feb! Then it's Alberta here we come!

I think that in different circumstances people get a request also for their passport. Some hav pre-arrangd employment, etc. What I have seen in the past is people who have a passport request with their medicals, to send it in 30 days later - this ensures any problems with the medicals they can get in touch before you send off the passports.

I think in our case we were asked to send passports after meds... We haven't, our agent says we need to wait for the request, but the meds will need/ have gone for (not really sure) excessive demand debate in Ottawa, so I figure sending them now would lead to the potential of lost passports for the five of us, whilst we are not in the UK... decisions decisions...

My youngest has some issues which we have always known may lead to eventual refusal lol. (Nothing ventured, nothing gained etc etc...) So, we had meds in August and handed over all the specialist reports etc. They (I assume) are being shuffled round desks in Ottawa whilst someone works out which expenses to add up to work out whether to refuse her under excessive demand criteria... I'm expecting a fairness letter next, so I'm keeping a nice file of all the new reports from the Canadian professionals lol.

I've just started the debate really lol, it's taking them a while to marshall their response
