Default Medical expiry

Hi guys, quick question.

What happens if your medical expires before your immigration forms have been processed?

Is is a case of medical is re done or the whole process starts again? From my understanding if you do not land before it expires then the whole process starts again but unsure what happens if it expires before you land but thats due to immigration office having not processed forms.

sometimes they will grant an extension to your meds. Sometimes you have to have the meds done again

To my knowledge the entire process doesn't start over again

If your meds expire before CIC process your case, you may well have to get them re done. If they expire after the PR visa is issued, your visa is no longer valid and I believe you are right, you've lost it and have to re apply from the beginning. A bugger if you don't qualify the 2nd time around. In extenuating circumstances you may get an extension, but not selling a house or being ready to move is not extenuating.

Hmm lets say my medical expires Jan 1st (it doesnt but just say it does).
Lets say they only issue the PR hmm some weeks before this date,. so no matter what unless they provide some extension, I would have to get up and do the landing etc even though they have left very little time?

Yes. We had a recent poster who only had 3 weeks after receiving PR in which to land - and there was nothing he could do about it.

Ah okay, thanks for the replies. The way I'm feeling I think I'd get up and go soon as it comes through anyway lol.
