Default Medical - Done It - Run Down

Hi all,
Got back from my medical at Manchester today. Very straight forward

Checked
Blood Pressure
Chest via stesascope on back
Chest via steth on front
prodded stomach
Made to cough without touching yipee
Weight
Height

Took
Urine Sample
Blood Sample

Then taxi to hospital for x-ray(that took longer) then taxi back to clinic then home.

Ask me anything you want

I will be sending my app on friday, just need tax return and more pics

Hey:

Why do you need to do your medicals before submitting your application ? Wondering, if it was a regular medical check up ?

Spousal applications require meds up front.

Glad to hear all went well.

Did you use the DMP in Cheetham or the one in the city centre?

You can relax and have a drink now

The one in the City Centre has actually moved to Altrincham but they still make you go back to St John's St for the Xray (they said its cheaper for me that way).

In addition to the above, the doctor also measured my head, as apparently they can tell from your head measurements if you have had a particular childhood illness.

The doctor in Altrincham was really good - I am so scared of needles that I cried during the bloodtest! I didn't even need a plaster afterwards and she was VERY gentle.

The cost was £110 for the medical and £40 for the Xray

I had my blood pressure tested tonight by a GP who is a client of mine and she said it was abit high. This is not surprising as i work in financial services, have 3 young children and 2 dogs. Does anyone know if high blood pressure is enough to fail the medical ???

Not being an Immigration Medical Officer, so take my opinion for what its worth. Not likely, unless it envolves related heart problems.

i am preparing for my medical here in BC Canada. Reading these positive post helps..so thanks.

I am a little nervous as i had Cancer with full treatments 14 years ago. My Specialist has given me a letter with details of my cancer and to my routine follow ups with no recurrence of disease. Still i cannot help but be a little worried!

It is costing me $215 canadian for the medical here. From what i am reading. I get a receipt which i send in with the application. So i am presuming the doctor sends his findings to Vegreville*

Good Luck to everyone else on their medicals.
