Default Medical done in Canada...where does it get sent to?

I get the results of the bloodwork and urine tests...plus chest xrays tomorrow...apparently. The Doctors secretary said it gets sent to Ottawa...is that right? i'd have thought it got sent to London where my application is? Can anyone confirm that it does indeed go to Ottawa?

Cheers

yes Ottawa is correct.
All medicals go to Ottawa first for review. I believe this is where the medically trained CIC people are assessing your medical file. They are giving London the go and then you'll receive your Request for PR Payment and to send in your passports! You will be done soon! Good luck!

BTW I believe it takes about one month from sending the documents to Ottawa until your ecas shows 'medical received'... so be patient and dont lose hope!

Actually the medical results are supposed to go to the RMC for the overseas office which is processing the application, which in the OP case would be London. Most DMPs don't want the expense of the overseas courier, so they send it to the closest one. It can delay the application slightly as the overseas office would check for results at their usual RMC.

you cant......its all setup so that the DMP waits a few days and sends all whole load of results together to the rmc.....this can take anywhere between a few weeks to a few months for the results to be checked and verified......there is also a queue for the medical people to check your results just like the application forms.....as long as cic medical people are satisfied that there are no issues you will get your PR request.

slightly odd question...

if we had medicals in Calgary (London applicants), in theory Ottawa would pass the results etc back to London... who updates ecas? Ottawa or London?

In our case we are expecting that London will forward meds to Ottawa for specialist review in any case... so what is the first indication that a decision of any sort has been made? Would they still update ecas 'medical received' whilst the Ottawa/ spec review was happening?

<faints dead away with stress of it all>
<can't work out whether meds would have stayed in Ottawa, or been sent to London first, to be sent back to Ottawa>

ecas may or may not change, for some people it will say medical results have been recieved and for others nothing right until the last minute when it says decision made, the system is not consistant and it is different for everyone.....

personally i wudnt bother worrying as the DMP are trained to do everything involved in medicals including sending the results, leave it to them and just wait for ecas to change............i know its hard at this stage but nothing can be done.....keep us informed when you get some good news....

I'd love not to worry lol, but we've been sitting on this blooming yes/no knife edge for over three years and it's chafing

I'm expecting to get a letter requesting further info, the standard 'we are likely to reject', and having to go through appeal. We aren't waiting for passport requests really, if that happens it's likely to be another 12 months-ish... What I'd really like is some sort of magical sign that our medicals have been received somewhere, and that someone is actually going to make some sort of decision, at some point in the future... ho hum.

Patience is apparently still a virtue.

Dx

ok simple email them, i did keep it short and sweet, do not demand or ask lots of question, put your facts across in a easy format like medical taken on xxxxxx not heard a thing, bit worried that they have not been recieved or goe missing please confirm you have them........in the letter put your name, dob, client id.... that should do the trick and hopefully they will reply in a few hours or a day or two.......ask lots of questions and demand lots of things then forget it doubt u will get a reply or one of their standard replies........... If no luck ask the expert posters PMM he seems to know everything or even jim humphries....he is an ex visa officer.

It will say on your forms where they have to sent to. Ours had to go to London and the DMPs office was pretty scabby about this. In the end we paid extra for a courier to send them to London and got a tracking number from them so we could check that they had arrived.
