Once ur passport is requested and sent back to you, do you have a time limit on entering canada and staying the 2 years out of 5 for perminant landed status?

1. Your COPR (immigrant visa) will be valid for 1 year from the date of the medical or the expiry of the passport, whichever comes first.
2. Your 5 year period starts the day you "land" is a rolling 5 year period to maintain your PR status. CBSA will look back every time you enter Canada for 5 years to determine if you have maintained your PR status, and that you will be able to maintain it.

Received Medical Requests today just under a month after returning updated documents. AOR May 2006. Can't believe how quickly things are now progressing. Hopefully you'll all hear soon as well.

Congratulations and that really is good going time-wise. It was about 3 months from updated docs to med requests for us when we were going through the process. Definitely light at the end of the tunnel for you now. We're now 10 months into our move to Okotoks, Alberta, and so far, it is proving the worth of hanging in there to get those shiny visas!

Best wishes,

Eamonn & Janet.
