Hello, pros. and friends:
(1) I am a Canada PR, married with a foreigner in church out of Canada several months ago. Should I register to Canada government for my marriage again, in spite of I have registered to the country where I had my marriage? (2) If I want to sponsor my spouse applying her Canada PR, is the Canada marriage registration essential to her, or the origianl marriage certificate from other country is good enough? Thank you in advance. |
For Immigration the marriage has to be legitimate in the country it was = performed.
It has to be a genuine marraige and not only for immigration = purposes and the spouses have to intend on residing together. Registration in Canada is not essential. Registration in the country = where the marriage was performed may be a strong indication of the = nature of the relationship particularly if it was not registered in a = country that typically or legally must register marriages. --=20 Good luck, Berto Volpentesta, B.A. (Spec.
