Default marriage certificate help..

Hi..i was wondering if someone here could please answer something for
me.
My question is that my boyfriend and i are doing an inland family
sponsorship and we are getting married this month. We have already
done the fingerprints and sent away for the police clearances and are
doing the medical now too. We need a marriage certificate to send away
with the application but we saw somewhere that we have to wait for the
marrige certificate for like 3 months after we get married to come to
us in the mail..is that correct? if it is then what do we use to send
for our marriage with the sponsorship application?..do we need to wait
for 3 months after we get married for the marriage certificate to do
the sponsorship? any help would be appreciated..thank you..
by the way..he is an american and i am canadian..
thank you for ur time.

You can mail a copy of the "solemnization of marriage certificate" or any
certificate that you both signed on the day of your marriage. Then add a
letter of explanation of not including the original marriage certificate
then advise them you will be sending the marriage certificate as soon as you
get it. That's what we did on my husband's inland application. Actually at
that time (last year) it's almost 3 to 4 months of wait due to Ontario
registry's strike and down system.

Our marriage certificate arrived within 2 weeks, in Alberta.

You could always send the "statement of marriage" which you get on the
wedding day, and then put a note in saying certificate to follow.

I did a similar thing with my Police certificate, and it didn't seem to
delay the processing - I got AIP a little over 3 months after submission
of the application... just waiting for PR now.
