Default Looking to apply for PR with old police caution

Hi all,

hoping someone can shed some light on my situation before we build our hopes up with our plans to apply for PR within the next year. Basically long story short, I will be main applicant for myself, husband and three children, with my masters degree and work experience my CRS is coming out at 456 mark taking the FSW route for PR. However, in 2008 age 17 I was given a police caution for assault occasioning ABH which on the face of it sounds horrendous, but the incident was actually me trying to split a fight up between a friend and third party at the time and in doing this the other person got a scratch hence the ABH. I did not get fined or any form of sentence just the caution which comes up on my record.

We would be looking to enter the pool next year after saving further funds, this would be 12 years after the incident. I have had no other incidents with the police prior to or after this but would this ruin our chances of obtaining permanent residency?

Thanks for any advice!

I wouldn't be losing sleep over it though it will need to be declared when applying and you will have to supply a police certificate regardless and they might ask for more information. The UK visa offices tend to treat police cautions as not being a conviction.

thank you for your advice! I will definitely declare it and supply as much info as necessary. Hopefully with the time elapsed and it being my only incident on record it should be ok then, fingers crossed.
