Default LMO - Question(s) - HELP

Hi BE Forum

Just a few queries regarding LMO for a job on 'The NOC List'

1. Does a potential employer have to proof that they have advertised within the canadian job market to fill the 'labour shortage', before requesting a LMO from HRSDC? Even if there is shortage of labour for that profession / job description as per NOC list.

2. Can a LMO be applied for within Canada?

Thanks

Hi rschata,

1. Yes, your employer must advertise. When I was on TWP, my employer advertised in the local papers for two weeks. The advertisements were kept as proof. There was a time we did not advertise and it was for less than two weeks. The LMO was negative in the sense that the employer did not make much effort to fill the vacancy with the local labour market.

2. Yes.
