Default Live-in CAregiver, for MR. A. Miller

After 2 years of working under the live-in caregiver program, my husband filed for PR August 2004 dependents included, he received AIP in January this year, and just last week received decision made letter from Vegreville... it says:

"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence status.

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The CIC in Calgary will contact you concerning your PR status.

The overseas office in Manila will be notified to issue visas to your family members to travel to Canada. Please take this letter to the CIC when you are scheduled to obtain your confirmation of permanent residence document."

Does this mean that CIC Manila will "definitely" issue us visas after my husband has landed? How long does a local CIC office usually contact an applicant for issuance of COPR? Is there truth to talks about CIC having reached their quota for visa issuance this year and that we are to wait until next year? This has been a gruelling ordeal for our family and we really pray for this to be over it has been more than three years...

I hope you can shed some light on our plight..thank you very much.

Yes, all is OK now.

BTW - your husband's process took little bot over 1 year which is quite fast nowadays.

"Gruelling ordeal... for more than 3 years"? No, process started in August 2004, so it is only 15 months, not "more than 3 years". You were separated for 3+ years by choice you made to use Live in Caregiver program.
