Leaving the country on TWP
I currently have a TWP. If I was to leave Canada and spend a week back in England or a day in the states, would I have to reapply for my work permit on my return? Or would it remain valid?

It remains valid until the expiry date. No need to reapply.

Just a question, on my TWP, there is a line that states "does not guarantee re-entry" does that mean there is a possibility you could get turned away at the border?

Yes if you are found to be inadmissible after the work permit was issued. That line is put on the work permit meaning you cannot just use the work permit for re entry on its own and that you must have a valid passport or visa if required when re entering Canada.
