Default Language Tests / Training in UK

If applying for Skilled Worker from the UK, and planning to count French as
second language, has anyone got experience of where to go for testing?

I read on the Canada Gov site that you can take a test to backup claims for
language skills, I could use some advice on where to do this in the UK and
anyone who has been thru this.

I would like to know iof there are courses you can take to prepare for the
tests too?

Thanks

Si

The only place in England to take the French TEF test is Alliance Francaise
in Manchester.

They have a web site too

Sorry can't give you anything about the UK.

If you go to the this site http://www.toeic.ca/tfi/index.htm

It gives you all the information required in order to receive a test
result that will be recognized by CIC. Obviously the score that you
obtain will indicate your level of ability.

Good Luck

BJ is not right in saying that you can only take the TEF in Manchester
- I took it at Language Studies International in Bloomsbury, London
last October. The official TEF website is at
http://www.fda.ccip.fr/sinformer/tef/ - and according to the site,
there are test centres in the UK in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and
Manchester.

I'm not sure what courses you could possibly take to prepare for the
tests as they assess your competence across the whole language:
written, spoken, aural comprehension, grammar etc. If you want to
simply brush up your French any generic French course should help.
