Language Testing - Federal Skilled Worker
Hi
We are Permanent Residents living in Canada, we now qualify to apply for Citizenship, my question is this - can use my secondary school certificates as proof of language proficiency?
We are both working here. I work for a School Board and my husband is a plumber, we have been here for nearly 7yrs. My husband had to do a Red Seal exam to be able to be a plumber here. Can we use hubby's Red Seal Certificate or his qualification certificates from England as proof of language or do we both have to blow another $300 for language tests just to be able to apply?
Appreciate your thoughts (just trying to not spend where I don't have to!)
Thanks peeps

I used my school reports and certificates to give proof and they accepted that.

Good to know they accept IELTS tests from your PR application - Ill make sure I keep hold of that for when the time comes

OP, if you want to take the uncertainty out of it and be 100% sure (based on the experiences of NavyBoy versus SP above), I'd suggest doing a language test. As you can see it can be very arbitrary.
