I know the OP's TWP isn't valid, but is the above the case for the PNP stream even if a valid TWP is held? If so, I'm screwed.

Yes we are NSPNP's and just hope this final stage goes okay.

Thanks Amy, we did just what you said and they said that this had happened not long ago and not to worry so fingers crossed all will go to plan as we are heading off tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes.

Well all done and with no hassle whatsoever, in fact it was a great time and great experience had by all.......

We decided better sooner than later and headed off to Houlton border crossing in New Brunswick Friday morning. After a long driver we arrived at the Canadian border parked up and went inside. We informed the lady there that we were landing and she said oh great go down to the US border and get your refusal and then come back. We mentioned to her that we would whilst we are here take a trip into the UK when its all done, which she said was no problem.

So off we trot to the US border where we told the lady in the booth of our intentions and she told us to park up and go inside. We were greeted by lovely friendly staff and only had to wait a few minutes for our refusal. We then headed off back to the Canadian border and told the chap in the booth that we had our refusals and wanted to land. We parked up once again and went inside. We handed over our COPR's and passports, answered a few simple questions i.e. where we live, how long we have been in Canada and that was about it.

We took a seat and waited for about an hour worrying what they were going to ask us about our work situation and our TWP's etc. A lovely lady called Jennifer came up and explained that the UK side had made an error and not put in our eye colour or height and their system was not allowing them to put it in and asked if we would like to go for lunch as it could be a couple of hours. We asked if it would be okay if we carried on and went into the US and pick the paperwork up on our return. She said that wouldnt be a problem at all and gave us back our passports and and apologetic smile.

So off we head to the US, where we had a fantastic time and did some great shopping...... We got a phone call that night from Jennifer to say all was sorted and our paperwork would be waiting for us on our return. A few tequilas were downed after this call I can tell you.

Well on the Saturday afternoon we headed back and when we arrived at the Canadian border expecting them to say something but we parked up again and went inside where Jennifer was waiting with our paperwork in hand and just handed them over without mentioning our expired TWP's or asking for POF'S, which we had managed to sort thanks to a very kind and
generous boss (typical Canadian as far as we are concerned). She then gave us a big smile and a welcome to Canada and off we went.

We were not even checked for our purchases in the US so all in all a very easy and wonderful experience, one which we will always remember as our special landing.

CONCLUSION - A great trip and a great experience and sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns and go for it. Sometimes too much analysing doesnt pay off.
