Default Landing from the US

Is it possible for me to land in canada (toronto), complete all formalities within a month or two, buy a house /apartment and then get back into the US.

The idea is to move my stuff just once, so the second time around i can just rent a UHaul, fill it up with all my stuff and move to toronto for good.
