Landing Questions/Experience

Hi All,

Sorry if these questions are simple, but need to know:

1. if doing a short term landing, e.g. couple weeks, where are PR cards sent? e.g. I assume cannot be sent outside of Canada

2. My partner will be under TB surveillance when there, so I assume a short landing is not really possible?

3. has anyone got experience of TB Surveillance?

thanks

To a Canadian address you supply on landing. If you don't have one (eg a friend/family member's), you can supply an address within a couple of months to get one as part of 'landing', or just pay for one when you land for real if that's a while later (the last of these, and possibly the 2nd depending on timing would involve needing a PR Travel Doc/Returning via the US land border).

No idea, sorry.

Re: Landing Questions/Experience

If your partner will be under TB surveillance, they would need to register with the Provincial public health authority within 7 (or 30) days of landing. The information to the PHA's required for this would be issued at the time of landing, it appears, so I don't think a 'short landing' would be feasible. There's also a form that your partner should have been sent (issued by CIC) that they will need to hand in at the time of landing (IMM 0535) which is then completed and uploaded by the Border Service Agent.

Your partner should have been given a handout with regards to the procedure that they must follow, if not then you can find it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resourc...sh-anglais.pdf

Sorry I see Siouxie just posted that. I agree with her: I'd change any plans for a short landing. You don't want to mess around and put your status in jeopardy.
