Default Landing Process!!!

Hi,

I am moving to toronto from US this month end and am not clear what to
do whether to fly or drive down.

1. If I fly what is the landing process ? What should I expect at the
departure airport and at the landing airport, what are the questions
and the documents I should be prepared for ?

2. If I am driving is it the same process or would it involve more
delays ?

Any information from anyone who has landed both by air or land would
be appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all, I do not know about US, I came from Europe.

Departure Airoprt: No clue.
Regarding the documents, refer to:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcome...ection-02.html
If you comply with the above, there will be nothing to worry about.

All in all, the landing process is very smooth if you have complied
with standard requirements of CIC. The kind of questions you might
be asked is similar to ones in your application form.

The officers, both customs and immigration, are very friendly and
polite but rather formal.

1. At the immigration desk, tell the officer that you are landing and
he will direct you to the appropriate desk to complete the process.
The process should not take more than 5-10 minutes, and dont worry
about any questions.. they will just confirm the details on your
landing papers.

2. If you are driving, same process, just tell the officer at the
booth that you are landing and he will direct you to park your car and
go an office.

Hope it helps.

Kanwal.
